Championship: Bolton Wanderers legend Kevin Davies to attend fans' meeting this week

Fans of financially stricken Bolton Wanderers will vote on whether to press ahead with a Supporters’ Trust at a special meeting on Wednesday night at the Macron Stadium.

Ex-Wanderers skipper Kevin Davies is one of the confirmed attendees, having played for Bolton for a number of years in the Premier League before leaving the club in 2013.

“(I) will be at the meeting on Wednesday night to find out more about how a supporters’ trust is run,” he tweeted.

He will be joined by a senior representative of Supporters Direct, who have helped set up similar operations for fans of other clubs.

A statement from the BWFCST working group clarified the presence of Supporters Direct ahead of the meeting.

“The presence of SD at the meeting will allow them to fully explain what a trust is and how it can function in a professional football club.”

Bolton were beaten 2-0 by Huddersfield at the Macron on Saturday to leave them bottom of the Championship.
