Championship: Bolton Wanderers part company with Neil Lennon

SkyBet Championship side announce that manger Neil Lennon has left the club by mutual consent.

Neil Lennon leaving the club comes just five days after the Sports Shield consortium, led by ex-trotter Dean Holdsworth, completed their takeover of the club.

Academy boss Jimmy Phillips will take over the first team as interim manager.

Bolton have only won 4 of their 37 Championship games this season and currently sit bottom of the table 11 points from safety with 9 games left to play.

On the official club website, Bolton released a short statement "All at Bolton Wanderers would like to thank Neil for his contributions during his time at the club,".
