Championship: Charlton players to reimburse travelling fans following 5-0 defeat to Huddersfield

The Captain of Championship side Charlton Athletic has promised to reimburse the fans who traveled to watch their 5-0 defeat at Huddersfield.

Johnnie Jackson took to Twitter to apologise for the side's performance as they were soundly beaten at the John Smith's Stadium.

"On behalf of the players, I want to apologise. It was disgraceful and you deserve better," Jackson tweeted.

He went on to say that the players will be paying the £23 each for the 166 Addicks fans who made the trip, and that he would arrange for the club to get the money back to the fans.

Charlton have picked up just seven points from their last ten games, and are currently second bottom of the Championship, three points from safety.

Fans of the club have already protested against the club's Belgian owners in recent weeks, with concern growing over the future of the club.
