Championship clubs agree to goalline technology

The EFL has announced that Championship clubs have agreed "in principle" to the use of goalline technology from the start of next season.

The decision was agreed during a meeting which took place at Walsall yesterday with a final decision to be decided in June at the EFL annual general meeting.

Premier League clubs started using Hawk-Eye technology in 2013 and it is already used in play-off matches at Wembley.

Other than the Premier League goalline technology is also used in Serie A, Ligue 1, the Champions League, the World Cup and the European Championship.
