Chelsea and Manchester City both fined

Chelsea and Manchester City have both been fined after the teams clashed at the match between the sides at the Etihad Stadium.

Chelsea have been fined £100,000 whereas Manchester City have been fined £35,000. The incident occurred after a challenge by Sergio Aguero on David Luiz, which the striker received a red card for.

This isn't the first incident of its kind by Chelsea with the London club being fined five times since February 2015 before this incident and last year were warned that they could face a points deduction if it happened again.

Chelsea were warned by the Football Association board, after their game against Tottenham last season, that "the time cannot be too far distant when... the only proper sanction is a points deduction".
