Chelsea target Antonio Conte to step down as Italy manager after Euro 2016

  

Current Italy manager Antonio Conte has told the Italian FA president, Carlo Tavecchio, that he will his role with Italy after the European Championships this summer.
 
This news will intensify the rumours that Conte is to replace Chelsea intrim manager Guus Hiddink at the end of the current campaign. 
 
Tavecchio told reporters "“Antonio Conte has told me that his experience with Italy will end after the Euros". He then went on to say the following outside the Italian Football Federation's home in Rome,­ “He hears the call of the [training] pitch and of daily work, which is under­stan­dable.­”.
 
Conte has been in charge of the Italian national team for two years after leading Juventus to three succesive league titles up to 2014.
