Conference: Southport appoint former Luton manager Gary Brabin as new manager



Conference Premier side Southport have appointed former Luton manager Gary Brabin as their new manager, followinf the departure of Martin Foyle.

Foyle, had only been at the club since May, but won just three of 14 league matches during his time there.

Brabin has previously been in charge at the club for two months in 2008 before moving on to Cambridge and then Luton, who were his last club since he left in 2012.

Speaking to the club's website, Brabin said, "I'm delighted to be back here and am very impressed with the training facilities at Edge Hill," 

"I know all the people here at the club, especially chairman Charlie Clapham, and am looking forward to meeting the supporters again."

Brabin has took training on Monday at Edge Hill Universtiy alongside his assistant Paul Carden, with both appointed on a full time basis.

The club take on Lincoln tonight, hoping to pull themselves out of the Conference relegation zone.
