Coventry City sack Slade and hire Mark Robins

Coventry City have appointed Mark Robins as their new manager. The appointment comes a day after sacking Russell Slade as manager.

Slade had been in charge of the team since December managing and managing the team for 16 matches.

Robins has returned to Coventry for his second spell as manager at the club, having been in charge between 2012 and 2013.

He rejoins Coventry bottom of League One, with the contract length described as "beyond the current season".

Robins told the club website: "I know the club well and it has been especially difficult to watch the struggles of this season from afar."

He added "My aim is to provide a change of fortune for this football club in the long-term, and build a team not only for now, but for the future of Coventry City."
