Dave Jones leaves Hartlepool by mutual consent
Dave Jones has left Hartlepool United by mutual consent after they dropped into the relegation zone in League Two with two matches left.
Jones leaves the club after only picking up 13 points from a possible 51.
Hartlepool lost 2-0 at home to Barnet which has left them two points adrift in the bottom two, with two games remaining.
The decision comes less than 48 hours after Jeff Stelling, club president at Hartlepool issued a message for Jones to leave during a this weekends Sky Sports Soccer Saturday.
Assistant managers Alex Armstrong and Kevin Cooper have also left the club. Defender Matthew Bates will take temporary charge of the first team with Striker Billy Paynter and coach Stuart Parnaby working as his assistants.
