Defenders from Premier League sides Manchester City and Chelsea shortlisted for FIFA World XI
Manchester City and Chelsea have both had a pair of defenders short listed for the FIFA World XI.
Premier League champions Manchester City had their captain Vincent Kompany and Pablo Zabaleta, and are joined by Chelsea's Filipe Luis and Branislav Ivanovic as the only current Premier League players nominated so far.
The entire 55-man World XI shortlist will be announced by 1 December, with five goalkeepers already being shortlisted, and four defenders from the nominees will join the goalkeeper along with three midfielders and three attackers.
The winners, voted for by 20,000 players worldwide, will be unveiled on 12 January at the Ballon d'Or awards.
