Derby County sack Steve McClaren

Derby County have sacked Steve McClaren as manager for the second time.

The sacking comes five months after he was reappointed as manager.

McClaren leaves Derby in 10th place in the Championship. The club say they have acted following a "significant, unexpected and persistent decline in results, team unity and morale".

Derby chairman Mel Morris said: "We need a manager who shares our values and who is prepared to develop the team."

Assistant manager Chris Powell and technical director Chris Evans have also left.
