Derby County to change stadium name back to Pride Park

Derby County have revealed that their stadium name will change back to Pride Park in January 2017.

The news comes after Derby chose to exercise their option to terminate the current stadium naming rights agreement tat they have with iPro, a sports drink manufacturer.

Derby moved to their current home in July 1997, after playing 102 years playing at Baseball Ground.

Derby president and chief executive Sam Rush said that the decision had been made after discussions took place with club owner Mel Morris.

Rush said: "Both the club and iPro have changed ownership structures in recent times and a thorough business review was instigated by our owner Mel Morris after he completed his takeover of the club last year. During this strategic review, it became clear that the most appropriate solution which best suits Derby County's long-term ambitions is to exercise our right to end the partnership."

He added "We enjoyed working with iPro and will now take the next few months to consider all our options regarding our home here at Pride Park."
