England v Germany: Club or country
According to reports from the Press Association Sport Ruben Loftus-Cheek is set to make his England debut in Friday's friendly against Germany,
The 21-year-old midfielder, currently on loan at Crystal Palace from Chelsea, earned his first senior call-up for the upcoming friendlies along with Tammy Abraham and Joe Gomez.
Gareth Southgate's men kick-off their World Cup preparations against Germany on Friday, when it is understood Loftus-Cheek will be handed a starting role.
When this game and the upcoming one against Brazil was announced the FA might have thought it was a bit of a coup for players and fans.
That faith may well have been misplaced - ceratinly from a playing point of view - Danny Drinkwater declined to join the squad despite no apparent injury - and key members of the squad that qualified for Russia next summer have pulled out
Harry Kane, Dele Alli and Harry Winks, Raheem Sterling, Jordan Henderson and Fabian Delph have all pulled out. Jack Butland was injured in training with Everton's Jordan Pickford likley to get the 'green jersey' ahead of Joe Hart. Burnley's Jack Cork, who has been called up by the senior team for the first time, was also among those training at St George's Park, but looks set to start on the bench.
It will be interesting to see what level of attendance Wembley attracts but the make-up of the team, forced on Southgate won't help.
