Europa League: Mixed fortunes for English clubs, as Chelsea and Tottenham win, Newcastle draw and Liverpool lose

Four English clubs were in action in the Europa League at various stages today, with Liverpool losing 2-0 away at Zenit St. Petersburg. Chelsea grabbed a valuable away goal in their victory at Sparta Prague, whilst in the later fixtures, Newcastle saw out a goalless draw with Metalist Kharkiv, and Tottenham grabbed a 2-1 win at home over Lyon.
