Stallone gave a half time message to fans on the big screen, as film crews shot the crowd as part of the upcoming Rocky spin off 'Creed'.

Fans were asked to stay in their seats at half time for a chance to be included in the film, which also has Everton fan and professional boxer Tony Bellew as the title character's main rival.

Stallone has been a fan of Everton since attending a 1-1 draw with Reading in 2007.

But despite the glamour of Hollywood on the pitch at the interval, there was nothing glamorous about the two halves of football played either side of it.

West Brom's new manager Tony Pulis pulled off another tactical master class in defence as Everton laboured to create any real chances in the first half.

But their best chance came just before the break when former Toffee Joleon Lescott handled the ball in his own area to give Everton a penalty.

But Belgian forward Kevin Mirallas decided to take the penalty at the expense of regular taker Leighton Baines, who has scored 15 of his 16 Premier League penalties for the club.

Some of his own team mates seemed to be angered by his decision, gesturing to give the ball to Baines, but after a chat with the England international, Mirallas stepped up only to see his effort cannon off the outside of the post.

That miss proved to be decisive as Mirallas was subbed at half time, due to injury according to manager Roberto Martinez, and Everton despite dominating possession failed to really test the Baggies.

A point moved Everton up to 12th in the league but they are still way off the pace of the teams competing for European football, and without a win in six games.
