Everton donate £200,000 to five year old Sunderland fan cancer fund
Everton have pledged to donate £200,000 to support a young Sunderland fan, Bradley Lowery, who is seeking life-saving treatment in the US in his fight against cancer.
The Club announced their intention to donate to Bradley Lowery's fund after their match against Sunderland at the Stadium of Light on Monday.
The brave five-year-old led his beloved Sunderland team out on the pitch as a mascot before receiving a round of applause during the fifth minute.
Supporters of both clubs sung 'there's only one Bradley Lowery', before a banner carrying the message, 'we're with you, Bradley' was carried around the stadium.
The youngster, whose Sunderland team lost 3-0 at home, also posed for a picture with the Black Cats' injured goalkeeper Vito Mannone who later posted the picture on his Twitter account and captioned the post: 'Best thing about tonight was meeting this little fighter. Keep donating! Well done Everton for the amazing gesture.'
Everton announced their intention to donate after the match, alongside auctioning the players' signed shirt from Mondays game to support the fund. The club also offered Bradley the chance to attend the return fixture at Goodison Park,
