Evostik League side Norton United to fold at end of the season

The harsh reality of non-league football has hit Non-League club Norton United. The Staffordshire based club were left homeless before Christmas after a ground dispute with owners of their 'Community Drive' ground with the Coal Industry Social Welfare Organisation.

The current club, resurrected in the late 80s has risen through the ranks and are in their highest ever position.

In addition to the first team, the club has a thriving grass roots section with nine other teams all having to find new homes.

Neil Dundas the Chairman assured fans and players that the club would see out it's fixtures but that they rental being asked would mean the club finding over £20,000 a year to play its games. The Current ground share was not sustainable long term.
