The FA close in on record kit sponsorship deal
The Football Association is expected to be close to announcing a record England kit sponsorship deal with Nike.
Reports suggest that Nike have agreed terms for a new, extended deal worth £400m over 12 years.
The deal, which covers all of the England national teams, will be a small increase on the existing deal, which will expire after the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
However, the final value of the deal be different come the end of the deal with reports suggesting that several clauses will be part of the deal. One of the clauses is reported to be a financial penalty if the senior men's team fail to qualify for a major tournament during the duration of the deal. The deal has also been structured reward the FA with incentive payments if the team reaches the latter stages, expected to be the semi-finals or beyond, of any World Cups and European Championships after the current deal expires after the 2018 World Cup
