FA Cup: Five Non-League Clubs including Sutton United look for Cup glory

The 3rd round of the FA Cup throws up the opportunity for some real giant killing when for the first time Non-League clubs get a chance to play sides from the Premier League and Championship.

Five Non-League sides have made it to this stage, Barrow, Eastleigh, Lincoln City, Sutton United and Stourbridge.

Whilst Stourbridge are the lowest rank side left in the competition Sutton United have the best pedigree.

Sutton famously knocked out Coventry at this stage in 1989 when the Sky Blues were a top flight side and had won the Cup themselves only two years before. It remained the last time a non-league side beat a top flight side  for 24 years, until Luton Town beat Norwich City in the Fourth Round in 2013

Unfortunately, money wise for all five, none of them were drawn against the  Premier League big guns.

Lincoln City - runaway leaders of the national League might fancy their chances of an upset away at Ipswich after the beat Oldham in round one.

Barrow face in form Rochdale at home whilst Eastleigh have a tough trip to Brentford and Stourbridge will do well to get anything away at Wycombe.

The tie of the round so far as the non-league sides is concerned though has to be Sutton at home at AFC Wimbledon - shock winners of the FA Cup in the 1980s when the beat Liverpool. You couldn't get two clubs more steeped in FA Cup folklore.
