FA Cup: Shepton Mallet get walk over after Ilfracombe Town fold
The Preliminary Round of the FA Cup was underway this weekend with 184 ties.
One club that definitely progressed were Shepton Mallet - they had a walkover following the withdrawal of Ilfracombe Town.
This followed a decision at the end of July that the Western League team be withdrawn from the Toolstation Western League with immediate effect.
The Reserves, playing in the North Devon Premier League became the first team, and the 3rds, playing in North Devon Division 1 have become the Reserves. The club will continue to field a Ladies Team, and will introduce a Sunday League team this season. The Youth teams will continue as normal.
Former manager Tom Bulley, who resigned after a friendly against Appledore and the first team players are all looking for new clubs.
