FA Cup tie between Liverpool and Wimbledon live on TV


 
 

The FA Cup third-round tie between Liverpool and League Two AFC Wimbledon will be screened live on the BBC.

The match at Kingsmeadow will take place on Monday, 5 January with kick-off at 19:55 GMT.

The BBC will also screen live the tie between Arsenal and Hull City at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday, 4 January (kick-off 17:30).

The Gunners beat Steve Bruce's side 3-2 after extra time in last season's FA Cup final .

"Saturday is a chance for any of the 32 teams in action to grab the spotlight on Match of the Day, while we've got six hours of coverage on Sunday to chart the progress of the 14 games," said Mark Cole, lead executive of football on BBC Sport.

"Add in Monday's big game at AFC Wimbledon, preceded by the draw for the fourth round, and it's a great way to kick of our FA Cup month."

Wimbledon and Liverpool met in the 1988 cup final, with the Dons pulling off a shock 1-0 win. The club was moved north to Milton Keynes in 2003, although AFC Wimbledon, formed in 2002, claim ownership of the history. and have their old trophies back from MK Dons.

Accrington or Yeovil also face a big TV pay out as the winners of next week's replay will be on BT Sport against Manchester United with a reported windfall of £140k
