Ferco Seating discuss safe standing at SoccerexMichael Burnett from Ferco Seating was joined by Robin Buchanan, stadium manager at Celtic, Ken Scott from Sports Grounds Safety Authority and Jon Darch from the Football Supporters Federation.
With the recent installment of rail seating at Celtic Park, proposed installment at Shrewsbury Town and increased public enthusiasm for safe standing to be introduced this is a very current area.
Ferco Seating, who installed the safe standing rail seats at Celtic Park last year, started the discussion by saying how many people have been to Celtic Park to look at the area of the ground where the rail seats are located with clubs from England and Scotland visiting. The introduction at Celtic Park had been worth the "5 years of pushing rail seating" according to Michael Burnett.
The rail seats have been warmly welcomed by fans with Robin Buchanan describing the new rail seats as "fantastic" for both fans and for emergency services.
Despite the recent work and advancements in rail seating the government have recently "reaffirmed that there will be no change to the regulations in the near future" according to Ken Scott.
