Forest Green Rovers promoted to the Football League
Forest Green Rovers have been promoted to the English Football League for the first time in their history after beating Tranmere Rovers in the National League promotion final.
Forest Green Rovers beat Tranmere Rovers 3-1 at Wembley to become the side with the smallest population to ever play in the EFL. The club are based in Nailsworth which has a population of 5,800.
The club unveiled plans in July 2015 for a new stadium within an 'Eco Park', to be ready later this decade.
They are famous for being the a green, environmentally friendly club and serve vegan only food to supporters at the ground. The players are also banned from eating red meat which has been known to be a factor during recruitment.
