Former Port Vale Manager, Micky Adams, rules out return to the club

The 55 year old has been advising owner Norman Smurthwaite in recent weeks, but he has contacted The Sentinel to state he will not be taking up the position at Vale Park.

Adams currently runs his own football consultancy business and is happy to be devoting his energies to that.

“My business interests don’t allow me to do that, but I wish Port Vale well. Vale’s is still a result I look for and I hope the club can get themselves out of the situation they find themselves in, but that needs everyone pulling in the same direction.”

In the meantime, the Valiants are poised to appoint a new manager.
