Former Tottenham boss appointed Birmingham City manager
Birmingham City have appointed Harry Redknapp as their new manager.
Redknapp has had previous spells as The West Ham, Tottenham and QPR manager. He takes over from Gianfranco Zola, who resigned as manger on Monday after losing 2-0 to another, Championship relegation threatened side, Burton Albion.
Birmingham are currently 20th in the table, three points above the relegation zone with just three matches left, His first game as manager will be on Sunday away at local rivals Aston Villa.
"Birmingham are a proper football club but they are in a precarious position," Redknapp, 70, told Talksport.
The club announced the appointment just 16 hours after Zola left the club.
Redknapp has said he will initially take charge until the end of the season.
