Steve Daley, Steve Daley, who cost £1.4 million when leaving Wolves for Man City in September 1979, will be the guest speaker at the Football Trade Directory’s networking Event at Stoke City’s Britannia Stadium on April 9th.
Daley made over 200 appearances for Wolves before being sold to Manchester City in 1979 for a then record fee, eclipsing the £1.1 million paid for Trevor Francis earlier that year.
Following his time at City he had two spells playing in America as well as playing for Burnley and Walsall.
Steve will be holding a Q+A on his career and life after football, having moved away from the game to work in the brewery industry.
“We’re delighted that Steve will be attending the Stoke event and we’re very much looking forward to hearing first-hand about his career,” said FTD’s managing director John Booth.
“We’ve had former professionals speaking at our events in the past and it’s always fascinating to hear them give their perspective on the game drawn from their own experiences.”
“Steve has a great reputation as an after dinner speaker his unique place in football history is something that is sure to be of interest to everyone in the game.”
The event is FTD’s first networking event of 2015, following four successful events at Wolves, Watford, Warrington and Sheffield Wednesday last year.
The event runs from 11am-3pm, with the Q+A with Steve Daley taking place at around 12.30pm.
It is free to attend as a delegate with refreshments and lunch provided, for more information email ollie@sportsglobal.co.uk or call us on 0843 507 9000.
