Greater Manchester Police 'aware' of racist tweet about Arsenal striker Danny Welbeck
Greater Manchester Police have confirmed they are looking into a racist tweet made about Arsenal striker Danny Welbeck.
The tweet was made after Welbeck scored the winning goal for Arsenal against Manchester United at Old Trafford last night to take them through to the FA Cup semi final.
The Police were made aware of the tweet by members of the public, and is the latest incident involving fans and racist abuse in rececnt weeks.
Authorities are still making investigations into two incident involving Chelsea fans, the first on a Paris metro train, and the second on a train from London to Manchester.
Welbeck was born in Manchester and played for United from the age of eight, before being sold to the Gunners last summer by new manager Louis Van Gaal.
United's defeat will now mean they will go without a trophy for the second season running for the first time in over 25 years.
