Guiseley sack Lockwood

Guiseley have become second National League side to sack their manager this season.

The club have sacked manager Adam Lockwood and his assistant Dave Penney. Lockwood leaves with club with them side third from bottom of the National League.

Lockwood took charge in September 2016 after the sacking of Mark Bower with the club bottom of the table. The club avoided relegation on the final day of last season for the second season in a row.

Guiseley's only victory from the seven matches this season came against managerless Torquay, who are bottom.

A club statement said "The club wishes to place on record its thanks to Adam and Dave, in particular for their efforts in keeping the club in the National League last season."
