Harrogate Town confirm work to start on new stand

Harrogate Town have continued to add weight to their aspiration to gain promotion to the EFL by developing the stadium further to future proof meeting EFL criteria required by the end of March in the first season following promotion to League 2.
Work on a new Family Stand starts this month and will be completed by mid July 2020.

The existing stand of 350 seats will be replaced with the new structure providing a total of
880 seats all under cover taking the stadium capacity to just over 5000. There will be a concourse with a food outlet and bar area as well as male and female toilet blocks.
“Apart from meeting future EFL criteria the new stand will provide significantly more seating so that we can accommodate more families and supporters that would prefer to sit than stand to watch their football. We are focused on continuing to improve the match day experience for supporters.” said, Irving Weaver, Chairman of Harrogate Town.
The new development represents a substantive investment and it is encouraging that the project is being delivered by firms local to the region, Evora Construction, Harrogate Steel, Bowman Riley Architects and Structsure Engineers.
Manager, Simon Weaver, said: “Hopefully it shows supporters and everyone in Harrogate that whilst we are striving to achieve promotion, we are continuing to improve our stadium, receiving  EFL approval for ground capacity. We already have a great atmosphere on match days and the new family stand  will allow more families to enjoy watching exciting football in a comfortable, safe environment.”
