Its Blackpool or Fleetwood in Fylde coast battle to avoid drop

 Football News 24/7
Five years ago when Blackpool were in the Premier League, Fylde coast rivals Fleetwood Town were five rungs below them in the football pyramid. Roll on those five years and the two teams will battle it out on the last day of the season to see who stays in League 1.

Blackpool were overwhelmed by promoted Wigan at the weekend and now face a tough trip to Peterborough on the last day of the season. the later parted company with boss Graham Westley last week after a disappointing season and Pool have some chance of a result.

To stay up though, they have to win and hope that Fleetwood come unstuck at home to already relegated Crewe after the Cod Army were battered 3-1 by promotion chasing Walsall on Monday. No gimme there though - Crewe beat another relegation side Doncaster 3-1 at the weekend. The pressure will all be on Fleetwood.

Blackpool have to win and hope Fleetwood lose because of vastly inferior goal difference - its a slim life line - but it's one Neil MacDonald the Blackpool coach will be happy to cling onto.
