Latest FIFA world rankings announced

The latest FIFA world rankings have been announced and it's positive news for Northern Ireland who have reached their highest position.

Northern Ireland qualified for their first major tournament in 30 years when they secured their place in the Euro 2016 competition to take place in France this summer. They now place 26th in the world rankings.

The only other home nation to rise in the rankings is Scotland who jumped five places to 40th place. This is despite being the only home nation not to qualify for Euro 2016.

The biggest drop in positions was Wales who dropped seven places to 24th. England fell one spot to 10th and the Republic of Ireland dropped two positions to 31st.

At the top of the rankings, Argentina replace Belgium in first place whilst Chile, Colombia and Germany complete the top five.
