League One: Former Everton and Oldham forward Jose Baxter suspended by Sheffield United

Football News 24/7

Sheffield United forward Jose Baxter has been suspended for the second time in less than a year.

The 24 year old's suspension by the Blades was confirmed in an official statement on the club's site which read, "Sheffield United Football Club can confirm that Jose Baxter has been suspended.

"Procedures are being followed and no further comment will be made until the completion of these actions."

This is not the first time Baxter has been suspended for non-playing reasons, having been suspended by the FA last year.

He failed an out-of-competition drugs test in May, and in July was given a five month suspension, three months of which were suspended.

Baxter began his career at Everton but made just a handful of appearances for the senior side before signing for Oldham Athletic in 2012.

He joined Sheffield United in 2013 and has made 16 appearances for them this season in League One, scoring four goals.
