League One promotion contenders Preston North End appoint new Chief Executive

Preston North End have announced the appointment of John Kay as their new Chief Executive starting on Saturday (November 1st.)

Kay has been a director of parent company, Deepdale PNE Holdings, since it took control of the Club in 2010 and is a business partner of Preston owner Trevor Hemmings, who fronted the takeover.

He has been appointed to the board of Preston North End and Preston North End Football Club.

North End were relegated a year after the takeover after a decade in the Championship, twice reaching the play-off finals (2001, 2005) in that time.

They reached the play-off semi finals in League One last season but were beaten by eventual winners Rotherham. This season they currently sit second in the table, having won their last seven league games in a row.
