League One outfit Scunthorpe United have appointed former Rotherham and Huddersfield manager Mark Robins as their new boss.
Robins, who replaces Russ Wilcox at the helm of The Iron, was sacked by Huddersfield at the start of this season after losing the opening game.
Speaking about his appointment at Scunthorpe, Robins said, "First and foremost I am delighted to be here, I was very encouraged by what i saw on Saturday."
Robins was referring to Scunthorpe's 3-0 away win at Gillingham, which still left them second bottom of the table.
"The opportunity was too good to turn down because there are exciting times coming here." he continued.
"I want everyone to enjoy what we are doing and excite the supporters. You have to work hard and have the players buy in to what you are doing."
Before Huddersfield Robins had spells at Barnsley, Coventry and Rotherham, and brings assistant manager David Kelly with him to Glanford Park.
