League Two: Cheltenham part ways with Paul Buckle after only 79 days

League Two side Cheltenham Town have announced the departure of manager Paul Buckle by mutual consent.

Buckle was only in charge of the club for 79 days after taking over from Mark Yates last November, and won only one game in his time in charge, taking the club from 18th in League Two to 22nd, just one place above the relegation zone.

Academy coach Russell Milton will take caretaker charge of the first team for Saturday's home match against Bury.

The club have also confirmed that assistant Rob Edwards has left by mutual consent.

Milton will be assisted on a voluntary basis by former Robins defender Steve Elliott, who was released by Buckle earlier this month.

Buckle had been working in America prior to taking over at the club, and had previously managed Luton, Bristol Rovers and Torquay United.
