Julian Winter has resigned from his position as Chief Executive of Notts County Football Club having only joined the club in October.

Winter's departure comes just weeks after former chairman Ray Trew stepped down and placed the club up for sale.

Winter, 50, only joined the club last year when he succeeded Aileen Trew, wife of Ray, in October 2015.

Winter, who was previously CEO at Sheffield United, appointed Jamie Fullarton as manager in January after Ricardo Moniz was sacked.

A notice period has been agreed with the board and Winter will remain in his position whilst a full handover of duties takes place.

Upon the announcement Winter said in a statement from the club, “There have been a lot of changes at the club over recent weeks and I want to stress that my resignation is not in light of these changes.”

“I came here with a clear plan of how to take this club forward and it is with regret that I have not been able to complete this important work.”
