Leicester City guaranteed Champions League Football

 Football News 24/7
If you listened to Leicester City boss Claudio Ranieri after Sunday's 2-0 win over Sunderland saw his side gain a 10 point lead in the title race- you'd have thought it was one point not ten.

Whilst Spurs cut the deficit to seven points after beating Manchester United later in the day the likeable Italian was still insisting his side were some way off lifting the title despite needing just three wins from their last five games.

One thing is certain - the Foxes will if nothing else be playing Champions League football next season and that may well see England's most successful club - Manchester United again miss out on a Champions League spot.

That defeat at Tottenham sees the Red side of Manchester trail their City rivals by four points in the chase for 4th spot (effectively five points given goal difference). Unless City win the Champions League it looks like United at best can hope for a Europa League slot - ironically Liverpool who knocked United out of the Europa League could still get Champions League football if they win the Europa trophy as the winners get that windfall.
