Leicester set to start defense of Premier League title at beleaguered Hull City
No Champions have lost their opening game the following season since the Premier League started and the Foxes are odds-on for a win on the opening day.
That is no surprise given Hull City's current plight. The owner, Assem Allam who wants to sell is ill - and whilst that isn't his fault his family don't share his desire it seems to carry the flag.
Manager Steve Bruce walked away in July after it became apparent the owners did not want to spend in the summer, and caretaker boss Mike Phelan has a wafer thin squad to choose from. The former assistant to Sir Alex Ferguson has been put in charge for now but it is a tall order to get results without a full squad.
Hull are long odds-on favourites to be relegated back down to the Championship - but football has a habit of surprising us and the sale of the club could turn things around.
For now though the new boys seem up against it and Leicester couldn't have asked for an easier start to the season - on paper at least.
