Man City top transfer spend - Hull City are bottom of pile

With only 5 hours left of the transfer window the Premier League transfer market has gone through the roof - for some clubs that is.

If you were a Hull City fan, whose three last minute signings have cost just £12 million and you might just wonder what the fuss is about.

But Hull, who are up for sale, are an exception, and boss Steve Bruce left in the summer because of the lack of a plan.

At the top end, Manchester City have spent nigh on £200 million, with neighbours Manchester United not too far behind.

The likes of John Stones from Everton, £47 million, Leroy Sane £42 million, Gabriel Jesus £27 million and Ikay Gundogan £27 million have boosted City's spend.

United splashed out a record £89 million on Paul Pogba and both West Brom with Nacir Chadli from Spurs £13 million and Bournemouth with Jordan Ibe from Liverpool £15 million have broken their transfer records.

Hull apart, other low spenders are Stoke and West Brom - both under £20 million and Sunderland and Burnley who have spent £27 million and £21 million each.

Total spent so far is  over a £ billion with the average spend per club getting on for £55 million. It is a staggering amount.
