Manchester City announce healthy new deal
The pharmaceuticals company previously served as a regional sponsor of Manchester City but will now be listed as their official global healthcare product partner.
The deal will see Mundipharma’s Betadine product logo adorn the uniform and kit of the club’s medical team, who will also be supplied with medicine to use with players. The brand will also benefit from enhanced exposure on digital display formats at City’s Etihad Stadium.
Additionally, the two parties will continue to collaborate on a number of co-branded youth development programmes, along with fan activations which will give supporters the opportunity to win tickets to games.
Tom Glick, chief commercial officer of City Football Group, the company which owns Manchester City, said: “We are extremely pleased to have extended our partnership with Mundipharma and Betadine. They have been a great partner from the outset. We have been continually impressed by the creative approach they have brought to everything we have done so far. We are delighted that we now have an opportunity to work together on a global scale.”
Raman Singh, chief executive of Mundipharma, added: “This partnership has proven to be a great fit for our brands. Manchester City is one of the world’s best-performing football teams, while we have positioned Betadine as a healthcare portfolio that builds personal resilience and supports well-being.
“Football is a powerful and emotive way to engage with people and communicate messages about personal healthcare and well-being in a way that is relevant and taps into the emotional fan experience. Manchester City’s success and continued ambition provides a global platform and extraordinary reach. Football is the language the world speaks.”
