Manchester City owned New York City FC agree kit deal with Adidas

MLS franchise New York City FC have announced a kit deal with German brand Adidas with a view towards their inaugural season in 2015.

The franchise is jointly owned by current Premier League champions Manchester City and baseball franchise the New York Yankees, and Adidas  will produce all the team's playing strips, training wear and merchandise.

The products, including replica jerseys and a range of supporter apparel, will be made available online and at Adidas’ flagship New York City store in Soho.

“We are very pleased to welcome Adidas to our rapidly growing New York City FC family and to be associated with one of the world’s leading and most recognisable brands,” said Tim Pernetti, the club’s chief business officer.

Their kit deal with Adidas comes with the brand midway through an eight-year, US$200 million deal with MLS – an agreement which sees it supply kit and equipment to all 18 of the league’s current teams.
