Manchester United appoint CEO of Media
Phil Lynch has been appointed the new Chief Executive Officer of Media at Manchester United.
Lynch will be responsible for overseeing the club's digital media strategy as well as the day-to-day operations of MUTV. Included in this is the recently launched MUTV app, which was introduced as an over-the-top (OTT) subscription service in 165 countries all over the world earlier this month. Lynch will also maintain the editorial strategy and output of the club's matchday programmes and their monthly magazine.
Lynch was a former global head and vice president of content and media partnerships at Yahoo. Another former job for Lynch was senior vice president of digital networks and games at Sony Pictures Networks
“Phil’s appointment is an important step in the evolution of our digital strategy," said Manchester United group managing director Richard Arnold. "He has a wealth of experience at Yahoo and Sony Digital that will add real value and insight to our thinking.”
