Marcus Rashford scores a hat-trick for England u21's
England U21 manager Gareth Southgate has said that senior team boss Sam Allardyce has been given “food for thought” following the young strikers hat-trick on his U21 debut.
The 18 year old Manchester United striker has now scored on his debuts in the Premier League and Europa League for Manchester United as well as on his England senior debut and his debut for the U21s.
"I wasn't surprised in any way," said Southgate, when commenting on Rashford's three goals during their 6-1 win against Norway.
"What we saw all week from him, we saw tonight. I couldn't have been happier with the way he approached everything.
"I'll speak to Sam in the next couple of days, I'm sure it's given him food for thought."
Chelsea trio Nathaniel Chalobah, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Lewis Baker scored the other goals for England.
The win means Gareth Southgate's men are now top of their group, two points clear of Switzerland, with two games left to play. England also have a game in hand on the Swiss.
