Mark Harrod have launched their new Premier Football Goal Training Trolley.

The product came about following a challenge from Wolverhampton Wanderers (Wolves)to their Research and Development team to create an improved training goal trolley.

These trolleys had to be right! They are needed by the grounds staff to maneuver their Top-Flight Training Goals onto the pitch to help the players warm up before the big game. Wolves grounds staff are acutely aware of the implications of a failure in front of thousands of footy fans.

We started out with our Heavy Duty Steel Trolley, a successful product for many years. The old trolley was heavy duty and strong but the R & D team felt that some updates were needed. This is where the Wolves grounds staff came in.

With feedback from Wayne Lumbard and his team they ironed out any early issues with wheels and over complicated mechanisms. We ended up with a v-shaped chassis with a low centre of gravity to aid movement. Upgraded wheels and a locking bar system were fitted to ensure the goals would be stable and secure in transit.

Designed to carry our 100mm goal frames, produced using UK steel the trolleys are zinc plated to help prevent corrosion. They come with 260mm, 360 degree wheels and puncture proof tyres. The goals can be manoeuvred in any direction on most surfaces with ease.

On completion the prototype trolleys were delivered to the Molineux Stadium for their big day. They have been rolled out at numerous home games throughout the Wolves amazing season back in the top tier of English Football.

Mark Harrod recently went back to the ground to carry out final checks on the product and see how Wolves got on. They got great feedback and you can see in the short film at the top of the page how the day went, some of the Mark Harrod Ltd team even had the privilege of a kick about on the pitch.

As the trolleys are manufactured by us here in the UK it’s easy to offer the optional extra of powder coating the chassis in your team’s colours (at extra cost). This not only enhances the look of the product but gives extra protection against knocks, scrapes and the wonderful British weather.
