Michel Platini will not stand for Fifa President

Michel Platini will not stand in Fifa presidential election it has been announced by Associated Press

Suspended Uefa president Michel Platini will not stand in the Fifa presidential election to be held on 26 February it has been confirmed. Platini was suspended by Fifa for 9 years from football activity by Fifa along with former President Sepp Blater.

Whilst Platini is appealing the ban his position as a Presidential candidate was untenable with most of his previous support, including the English FA melting away.
