Newcastle United - Alan Pardew given green light to talk to Crystal Palace

The news that the Newcastle United manager has been given permission to talk to Crystal Palace about taking over at Selhurst Park will confirm what many people already thought - he is about to return to a club where as both a player and coach he excelled in the 80s and 90s.
The two clubs have agreed compensation for Pardew to succeed Neil Warnock, who was sacked on Saturday.
Pardew will not take training on Tuesday, Newcastle confirmed.
Palace are without a manager after dismissing Warnock just four months into his second spell in charge of the South London club.
Newcastle released a statement on Monday night confirming assistant manager John Carver will take training instead.
It said: "Crystal Palace have offered compensation at a level whereby Alan has now been permitted to speak to them."
The Eagles are in the Premier League relegation zone after winning only three league games this season.
Keith Millen, who worked under Warnock and predecessors Tony Pulis and Ian Holloway, acted as caretaker for Palace's 0-0 draw with Queens Park Rangers on Sunday and had expressed an interest in the job.
The former Reading, West Ham, Southampton and Charlton boss steered Newcastle to a fifth-placed finish in the Premier League in 2012 and is under contract at St James' Park until 2020.
It is understood according to BBC Radio 5 live that Palace have offered Pardew £1 million a year MORE than he is on at Newcastle.
