Newcastle United's Jack Colback fined for gambling offence
Jack Colback has been fined £25,000 after he accepted an FA misconduct charge for betting offences.
The rule that he has been charged with breaking is rule E8 that he placed a bet on a football match which took place on 16th March this year. However, it wasn't a match that he was involved in.
The FA rules forbid people involved in football from betting, directly or indirectly, on any football match anywhere in the world.
Colback isn't the first high profile player to be charged with betting offences this year with Joey Barton, Kyle Lafferty and Martin Demichelis also being charged and punished for betting offences.
