No surprises as England give Tottenham striker Harry Kane first national call up

Harry Kane as expected was brought into the England senior squad ahead of their Euro 2016 qualifier against Lithuania and friendly against Italy.

The Spurs striker has exploded onto the scene this season, netting 26 goals in all competitions so far this season, more than any other player in Premier League.

Expectation has been growing for several months that Kane's form warranted a senior call up, and manager Roy Hodgson didn't disappoint as he announced his 24 man squad.

The national side face a Euro 2016 qualifier a week on Friday (27th) against Lithuania, having won all their previous qualifier matches so far.

They then take on Italy in a friendly, with the two sides last meeting at the World Cup in Brazil last summer, a match which Italy won.

The rest of the squad is made up of players who have all featured under Hodgson in the past, with the only omission being West Brom goalkeeper Ben Foster, who is injured.
