Spalding United of the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League have confirmed the departure of manager Pat Rayment on the club's official website following reports on social media on Friday that he had stood down after three years in charge.

According to the report confirming that Rayment had resigned, the Club's chairman Chris Toynton said he will make an official statement in due course.

Director of football Bob Don-Duncan, assistant-manager Marcus Ebdon and physiotherapist Sam Seal were reported to be remaining at the club and took charge for Saturday's league clash at Norton United.

Former Peterborough United professional Rayment took the helm in January 2012 and left with the club enjoying its highest ever league position, fourth in Evo-Stik NPL First Division South.

Rayment previously managed Deeping Rangers and was a player-coach at Kettering Town. As a player he made more than 450 appearances for Corby Town, many as player-manager, and also tuned out for Stamford AFC, Chelmsford City, Gorleston, Diss and Great Yarmouth Town.
