Oldham's SportsDirect.com Park might be home to Rugby League again

Rugby league side Oldham Roughyeds are to hold talks with League One's Oldham Athletic about sharing SportsDirect.com Park next season.

Roughyeds will play in the Championship next year after winning League One, but their Whitebank Stadium does not meet Rugby Football League criteria.

Chairman Chris Hamilton has held talks with the council about improving their stadium but they need a venue for 2016.

Roughyeds have played at Boundary Park before between 1997-2001 and 2003-2009.

"I've always had a good working relationship with Oldham chairman Simon Corney and we are going to meet to discuss the possibilities for next season," said Hamilton.

Oldham's new Stand is due to open this month.
